Deux Privacy Policy
Deux is a relationship communication and AI coaching app operated by Deux Refelexion. This policy explains what information Deux collects, how it is used, and the choices users have. Contact us at refelexion@gmail.com.
Information we collect
- Account information such as name, email address, phone number, authentication state, and verification status.
- Profile, contact, block, invite, conversation, relationship-preference, AI-coach setting, and billing-state data created in the app.
- Messages, reactions, reminders, attachments, Shared Facilitator messages, and other chat content needed to provide messaging features.
- Content-report identifiers, report category, optional reporter note, moderation status, and timestamps when a user reports an eligible human or Deux message. Deux does not copy the reported message body into the report record.
- Optional camera access for QR-code scanning and media capture. Camera frames used for QR scanning are not stored by Deux unless the user chooses to send captured media as a message attachment.
- Optional photo, video, file, and microphone access when a user chooses to send media, files, images, videos, or voice-related content.
- Optional location access when a user chooses current-location or live-location sharing in a conversation.
- Push notification tokens and device identifiers needed to deliver notifications.
- Purchase and entitlement information from our subscription provider and the app stores when the user loads, buys, or restores Deux Plus.
- Technical logs, request metadata, diagnostics, crash, performance, and security information needed to run, debug, and protect the service.
How we use information
- To create accounts, authenticate users, verify phone numbers, and keep sessions secure.
- To provide messaging, adding people by invite code, link, or QR code, finding a person by their exact username when they have chosen to be found, media sharing, location sharing, blocking, reminders, and notifications.
- To provide AI coaching features such as review-before-send, private feedback, relationship type and coaching preferences, and Shared Facilitator messages when enabled.
- To manage subscriptions, entitlements, billing diagnostics, usage limits, and customer support.
- To receive and review in-app reports about eligible human or AI-generated messages and respond to abuse, safety, or policy concerns.
- To prevent abuse, debug problems, improve reliability, and comply with law and platform policies.
AI features
Deux may send relevant conversation text, draft messages, relationship type and coaching preferences, and recent interaction context to AI-processing systems when AI features are used. AI output is intended for communication coaching and reflection. It is not medical care, therapy, diagnosis, crisis counseling, legal advice, or a replacement for professional help.
Service providers
Deux uses service providers to operate the app. They help with chat delivery and storage, push notifications and app configuration, subscriptions and purchases (together with the app stores), cloud hosting and databases, and AI processing for AI features. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services to Deux, subject to their own terms and privacy practices.
Sharing
Deux does not sell personal information. Information is shared with other users only when a user chooses to communicate, invite, join a conversation, send media, share location, or use a Shared Facilitator feature. Information may also be shared with service providers, app stores, law enforcement, regulators, or other parties when required for safety, security, legal compliance, billing, or operation of the service.
Retention and deletion
Deux keeps information while it is needed to provide the app, maintain security, resolve disputes, comply with law, and support billing records. Signed-in users can permanently delete their account from Menu > Privacy & safety > Delete account. The authenticated flow removes private account, authentication, contact, relationship, AI, and Deux-controlled billing data and requests provider erasure before signing the device out. Users without app access can use the public deletion resource or email refelexion@gmail.com.
Shared conversations, counterpart messages, and counterpart-visible records may remain so another participant does not lose their own history. Retained moderation records are anonymized when an account is deleted: deleting-user links and reporter-authored notes are removed while privacy-minimal report identifiers, status, and timestamps remain. Internal tombstone/lifecycle data and records required for law, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, app-store billing, tax, accounting, or backup integrity may also be retained.
User choices
- Users can deny or revoke camera, location, microphone, media, and notification permissions in system settings.
- Users can choose whether to send messages, attachments, location, invites, or QR codes.
- Users can configure relationship and AI-coach settings where the app offers those controls.
- Users can contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or support.
Children
Deux is not designed for children. Users should not use Deux if they are not old enough to consent to the processing of their personal information in their country or region.
Changes
We may update this policy as Deux changes. The latest version will be available at this URL with an updated date.
